Professor Mark Sharp has more than 20 years of experience in multi-disciplinary and geograhically dispersed international organizations. He is a widely recognised expert on property and development research, and is currently Managing Director of a consulting firm. He is an active Professor in the School of the Built Environment at Salford University (UK), and is a member of the Judging Panel for International Hotel Awards. He was the former Chief Executive at the Association of International Property Professionals. Professor Sharp has been involved in innovative industrial research for non-governmental, government and European engagements. He has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Greenwich (UK) and his research focuses on building efficiency for business performance. Over the years, he had set up a series of value added initiatives including benchmarking and Key Performance Indicators, which have since been taken up by governments and organizations throughout the World. He was also the former director of the Scottish Construction Centre, as well as a director of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (Netherlands).
