Professor - Ehsan Toyserkani

Dr. Ehsan Toyserkani is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, University of Waterloo (Canada). His main research expertise is multi-scale additive manufacturing technologies (or 3D printing), and their applications to many sectors of engineering and medicine. He is also an editorial board member of two prestigious international journals on advanced manufacturing.

Dr. Ehsan has been actively engaged with the international additive manufacturing communities and organizations involved in standards development for this disruptive technology. He was a member of an adhoc group initiated by Industry Canada and Policy Horizons Canada in 2013 to launch a dialogue on strategies to advance additive manufacturing in Canada and to meet leading competitors in international jurisdictions. In addition to 42 journal papers, his research has resulted in four granted and pending patents on novel additive manufacturing processes that are being adopted for numerous applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, non-planar/conformal electronics, aerospace, tooling, remanufacturing and energy areas. He is also a co-founder of two start-up companies in the area of additive manufacturing.
