Jason Daniel Patent

Dr. Jason Daniel Patent has more than 20 years of experience with China, including 10 years living and working in China. He is an expert cultural interpreter, and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and proficient in German. He is currently American Co-Director of Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies at Nanjing University (China). He is the former Director of the Stanford Program in Beijing (China) where he facilitated the collaboration between Peking University (China) and Stanford University (United States). He is also former Vice-President of Cultural Affairs at China Prime and former Vice-President of Communications and Marketing at Orchestrall, Inc., where he composed marketing pieces about key differences in business practices between United States and China. He received the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for studies in Tibeto-Burman linguistics at the Central University of Nationalities in Beijing (China). He received his B.A. degree in East Asian Studies, Magna Cum Laude, from Harvard University (United States); an M.A. degree in East Asian Studies from Stanford University (United States); and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from University of California, Berkeley (United States).
